I just got a 2005 Neon SXT for my 16 year old and fixing some stuff on it. So I was changing the air filter today and noticed that all of the screws on the air box cover are messed up except for one (where the battery is). The clips are not even there anymore.

All the screws are actually there but 3 of them just spin and don't tighten.
The only one that actually tightens the cover is the lonely screw on the back side by the battery.

So...
I am either looking to replace those screws but not sure which ones to look for and where or if someone has these screws on an old air box and want to sell them to me?? For now I just used a zip tie which worked great

my 2000 was the same, I went to a salvage yard and removed all the screws and clips and installed on mine.. problem solved

any body repair shop that's local will have some body/fender clips w/bolts that will work you only need 3 for the lid to seal

 

Anyone have factory part number for the air box clips?

 

There is none. I checked a few weeks ago. You have to buy the whole box. My 25 year old bmw that I just sold you could still buy from the dealer any clip,bolt, screw fastener. trying to get little things like that for this car is a joke!

As for the clips, it looks like you'd have to buy the cover. The clips, IIRC, are just some type of body/fender clip like TejasMtnBiker suggests. Hardware stores like Lowe's/Home Depot should carry them.
