Default 2000 Neon starts, revs itself up & dies...help!

My 2000 Dodge Neon starts up with no issues, fires right up, revs itself up and immediately dies. It did this about 5 times and now it won't crank over at all. All of the gauges and lights, and anything power related work, I can even hear the fuel pump engage when I turn the key. I've put a new cpu in and replaced the fuel pump relay fuse and the fuel auto shutdown relay fuse, and after that it did the same thing. Fired right up no problem, revved itself up and died. Any clue why this is happening? It has to be electrical or some sensor or something right? I'm not super savvy on car stuff but have some friends that have some knowledge and have been a great help. Any help or suggestions I could get would be greatly appreciated as I'm trying to fix this problem so I can gift this car to my son. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Please provide the vehicle information so we may assist you. Engine size, mileage, transmission. Etc.
