Default 2005 Neon SXT, new battery, power to all components, won't crank

Spidey (my Neon) recently decided to retire mid day. I have a new battery and power to all components but the starter will not engage. I've had the computer checked and all fuses and relays are in working order, but still nothing when I turn the key. Also, the trunk won't pop using my keyless entry anymore. Any thoughts?

Did the problem come about slowly over time, or suddenly after some event?
Check in cabin dash fuse panel #10/15 amp fuse.
Check the tranny Neutral/Park/Start switch electrical connector to see if it's loose or damaged wire/s.
Try starting in "N" instead of "P".
Try raising, or lowering the steering wheel while trying to crank the engine.
Try using another key that's programmed for the vehicle.
Do you have a lit CEL/SES lamp, if so use your ELM scan tool to scan the vehicle computers/controllers for trouble code clues & post All code Numbers, as they can help us focus a trouble shoot.
More trouble shooting thoughts for consideration, let us know what you find.

All cables are clean and tight, it's a manual transmission, I only have one key for the vehicle, all fuses are new, this happened suddenly I've never had any problems starting it until now, no wires or connectors are damaged either. Will try using a scan tool, but it hasn't thrown a code using the 3 turn diagnostic that's built in. I have not tried raising and lowering the steering wheel while trying to crank yet.

Ok, that's good feedback. When you turn the ignition to "On" & pause, Before trying to crank the engine, does the CEL light up to go through it's self check then turn off?
Good idea to have a look for trouble code clues with a scan tool. Post up All trouble code Numbers, as they can help focus a trouble shoot. Let us know what you find.
