this isn't the first time that Ford has recalled their vehicles for fuel related issues. I remember the Explorer being recalled early in its run for a problem that arose from medium speed side impacts. Something to do with a cardboard insert that would cause fuel to spill everywhere on impact.

No, I do not smoke. Yes, it was a verrrrry terrifying experience, and I ended up crashing the car and nearly lost my life. Thanks for all your input.

you crashed the car?

Are you sure the fire started before you crashed?

Why were you driving at night with the windows down going 65 mph?

I've got a feeling there's a heck of a lot more to this story than what you're telling us.

Why not? Dont get the windows question...@ all really. I drive windows down all the time even @ 80 MPH...There is no marker in his story that should get us asking all the unnecessary questions. It was a bad random event that requires no answers. Thats why insurance and law enforcement is there to deal with all the reports and filing. If you cant relate then leave it be.
