Default Clunking in rear passenger. (suspension or drum brake assembly?

Hi everyone Long time creeper first time poster, hopefully I can snag some advice.

There was a very loud clunking sound that appeared in the rear passenger of my car yesterday. I could feel it in my brake pedal, and my parking brake. I pulled over and noticed brake fluid leaking from what I now know is the wheel cylinder. My car clunked for about 3 miles until I ran out of brake fluid and then it went away. I'm not familiar with drum brakes, I'm wondering what could have caused this?

For now I'm going to clean out the drum and all components because it's flooded with fluid, and i'll check my struts as well to make sure one didn't fail and somehow destroy my cylinder. Anyway has anyone had a similar problem so I may be able to solve this faster? Thanks for reading.

Problem solved~

Just replaced wheel cylinder and brake shoes. Apparently the pads came off of the metal part and that destroyed my wheel cylinder. I don't know why the clunking was there, but now it's gone and I just need to bleed brakes.
