I have an 05 Neon SXT and I'm looking into what engines will interchange. It jumped time and has some serious internal damage and I'm not interested in rebuilding because that's just one of the many problems this engine has. So I'm curious as to what I can call the junkyards and ask about. Whether it be a Cirrus or a Breeze (or what years of Neons) as long as it will drop in and mount up without too much fuss. Also, I may need a transmission too so if you guys have any information about that it would be a great help as well.

Junk yards should be able to answer your question.

 

I think just about any non-egr 2.0L SOHC should do, unless there's something I'm forgetting. Transmission is a 40TE.
