So my gas light came on and i got the code p0456. I bought a new gas cap and reset the code. The light came on again. P0456. Then my evap monitor completed! I have 6 of 6 monitors complete. Closed loop. And still check engine light with code p0456. I am still learning and any thoughts or solutions would help. Thanks. By the way ive got 256xxx miles on her.

 

Look at the evap lines coming off of the carbon canister. Black plastic box looking thing by the RR tire. The large, main line on my car was cracked, as they tend to do. Patched it up with cold tape and never had an issue after.

 

Just checked on my lunch break. I pretty sure i smell gas not exhaust coming from that area. I hope i haven't damaged the box from bottoming out. When i get home i will take the tire off and do a better check. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction i will post my results when im done. Thanks again
