Default Headlight low on with high??

OK, so here goes...

I am doing a group buy for HID over at the W-body forums, but can't get 9007 high/low HID, so I'm just going to go with the low beam only 9007 and have some aux driving lights be the "high" beams... Not a problem there, just hooking up the low power and ground to the HID and the same ground and high beam to the aux lights relay...

BUT...

It's REALLY hard on HID and the wiring system of the car to turn on and off all the time, and whenever you turn the high beams on, the lows turn off... My question is: How do I make it so that the low beam stays on all the time the lights are on, but the high beam can come on and off as she pleases??

Any help??

Thanks,
Mike

Edit: I know I can use a diode, so that when the high beams are on, it still powers the low beams, but is there a problem with doing this??

Why do you want them both on?

Mainly because I'm switching to a low beam only HID system, and using some aux driving lights as the "brights," so they're not in the same bulb any more and it won't hurt anything to have them both on. Not only that, but it's really hard on the whole system for the HID's to have to warm back up when you go from high beam back down to low beam. Even though HID puts out 3 times the light and uses only 35W instead of 55W doing it, its "warm up" current is like 20 amps for the first few seconds, so if you're switching between low and high beam a lot, the wiring and bulb can't handle "warming up" all thost times... Also, if you turn them off when the high beams are on, you've got to wait with no light at all for 2-3 seconds for them to warm up enough to put out much light... and they don't get to full brightness for probably 5-6 seconds... but at $185 SHIPPED for a 4300k or 5300k HID kit, I can't pass it up...
