[I am having some electrical issues with my 04 Neon SXT. The headlights and dashlights were sometimes not coming on right away, but then would. The power door locks and trunk also did not work when lights didn't work. The dome light always worked however. I scheduled the dealer to look at it as It is only 18 months old and has only 20,000 miles. The lights after a few days suddenly went out while driving as well as dash lights and door and trunk power lock. When significant other checked fuse to get me through we found that it had been cobbed by the people who put the electric car starter in. They had taped it together and wires were on top. This fuse and wires were melted. The relay appeared to have a slightly melted spot, but hard to tell if cobbed fuse burnt relay or other way around. Anyway fuse fixed the headlights and locks. We let it run a while then the power windows stopped working and the air bag light came on. I have seen a deployed airbag, and as I was sitting in my driveway idling I find it hard to believe one deployed without me seing it. As this happed after the changed fuse we plan to take it in. I am just wondering if anyone has had anything like this happen and what might be causing it.

 

The verdict I guess is the people who put my car starter in are idiots. The cobbled wire was part of the problem. They apparently lost took ate, another 40 amp fuse and replaced it with nothing. The cobbled fuse apparently was not cobled very well at all. Guess I am happy it wasn't the neon that had issues.
