Just picked up a 2005 neon and I'm trying to bring it back to life. Any help or hints about common issues would be great. I have several other cars and some experience to contribute.
BTW the first issue I need to tackle is that most of the braking power seems to be on the front two wheels or even the front passenger wheel. Have to press hard to stop. Any suggestions?
My newly acquired 2005 neon SXT seems to have most of the braking done with the front wheels or even just the front passenger wheel. Do I need new brake lines or a master cylinder? Do I need to adjust the rear drums?
Done so far on this car:
Rear struts
front sway bar links
plugs and wires
catalytic converter
front speakers
new oil and transmission fluid
TPS sensor
MAP sensor
cleaned throttle body
Well I opened up the drums and they looked like crap. replaced shoes and springs and cleaned and lubed everything. Adjusters were seized. shoes looked bad. replaced one wheel cylinder. Brakes much better now. Must have been original to the car.
