2003 neon error codes assistance: how to fix?
Thought this may be a good place to start a thread, have a discussion, and get a hand with this. Fixing a 2003 neon and ran into some codes right at the end.
p0171 p0700 p0362 and p1684.
p1684 we aren't concerned about, and we already know what the other codes mean. However we would like your input on ways to fix each of these without having to drop cash and replace everything.
Were going to clean up some wires and make sure all the sensors and such are clean and connected, however if that doesn't clear things up we could use some advice. p0362 we also have a trick to try. Regardless, if you have any tips or tricks under your belts, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks guys!

We are to work & put right the Lowest trouble code number First, then work our way up to the next highest number on the list & put it right, etc. Having & using a good quality scan tool that can monitor live sensor PID feeds to the computer/controller's can also help focus a trouble shoot. There are bench tests & field diagnostic short cut procedures we can use to narrow down & focus a trouble shoot. So, begin with the lowest trouble code Number, see if the scan tool PID's can give clues on where best to concentrate the trouble shoot & perform some field or bench tests to zero in on the suspect. If your lacking the needed test equipt. many autoparts stores can & will bench test items at no cost.
Have any replacement or warranty electrical or electronic components bench tested Before leaving the store with them.
Some general thoughts for consideration, if you have any specific components or parts suspects in mind, post up the problems, questions, or results of your trouble shooting & the forum will try to make useable suggestions based on best practice & experience.
