01 Compressor High Pressure Switch
Hello,
I recently installed a refurbished a/c compressor on my 01 dodge neon. The replacement compressor did not have the green high pressure cut off switch on the side like my old one does now. I didn't know you could buy the switch and install it. The replacement compressor is now installed and the system is charged but I did not install the switch. I bypassed the switch to recharge the system. I know it sounds silly because the switch is activated by pressure and now the system is under pressure but you never know so I have to ask...
The question is, am I able to install the high pressure cut off switch on the side without purging the system?
**I just read on another site how this guy had this very switch explode out from over pressure. He pulled out the remaining bits and installed another switch. I'm guessing the hole where the switch goes is exposed and would require the system to be drained. I was hoping to avoid this but I should be fine.
