Default New shifter

I am putting in a new shift **** and boot on a 2003 Neon SXT. Can anyone explain to me how to do this and also whether i can shorten the shifter at all. maybe by cutting some of the top off?

If u don't want the whole unit just buy a Hurst Neon shifter.

How are you getting another shift boot? I ordered a universal leather shift boot and it didn't work. The Neons shift boot isn't universal (which sucks). After my leather shift boot didn't work, I ordered an SRT-4 shift boot and that didn't work either. The only way I can picture u doing that if it's custom or if you change your shifter. If u change your shifter to the Mopar short throw shifter the SRT-4 boot will work.

The Universal stuff never fits well if at all.

Look at the Hurst unit, and install booger bushings at the sametime.
