PS Belt - A/C Bypass - Belt Really Tight
Hey everyone, I own a 2001 Neon (2.0L SOHC) to which my A/C pulley seized up. I purchased a Power Steering belt for a Non-AC Neon to which the belt goes on VERY tight. The tensioner/idler pulley is maxed out. This does not seem normal to me. Wondering if anyone else noticed the same thing?
I assure you it's the correct belt as per descriptions/part numbers from various sites.

Welcome to the 2nd Gen Neon forum.
That's not a normal work around. Running that configuration is putting other accessory bearings on that belt route under higher than designed for load, so you'll likely have more problems soon. Or until you can get the compressor replaced, come by a little longer work around belt. Some thoughts for consideration, let us know how it goes.
