Talking Custom Power Distribution Center

My PDC is pretty gnarly and it takes up space that I could use for other projects.

My question is this: Is there any reason that I should not make my own power distribution center?

It simply houses relays and fuses with a +12V cable and the cables that connect to each relay.

I've heard that you should never do this but I simply can not find a reason why I can't.

I want to beef up the cables which are corroded badly along with the battery terminals, speaker wire, amps, etc.

Also, I'm tired of the high beams, AC, Door window motor etc. moving slowly because the electrical system is getting bogged down.

So, can I do it?

Ah, cool.

Man, I was told that sort of thing should never be messed with. "This was designed by a team of engineers with millions and millions of dollars at their disposal to conduct tests on them."

Thank you, kind sir
