Default Interior Light and Headlight Warning Not Working.

On my 2003 Neon SE the interior light not turn on when either the driverside front or back doors are opened. However they do turn on when the passenger side doors are opened. Also, I don't get a warning sound when I leave the interior lights on or the keys in the ignition. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. I don't have electric door lock or electric windows. Pretty base.

Default RE: Interior Light and Headlight Warning Not Working.

Just so I am correct the passenger side front and rear doors turn the light on and the drivers front and rear both don't? I can't tell you exactly why, but there are switchs on the doors. They are simple, when you close the door they interupt the circut and give no power to the light, when they are open the circut completes and they turn on. To find them look for a plunger in the door jam on the passenger side that when you push it the lights go off. Look for the same thing on the drivers side, those are your switches. If they look dirty or rusted clean them. However considering its both on one side I would say you have a broken wire somewhere. I am not sure on how they are exactlly wired, but if you trace those wires I am sure you will find a break or pinch in the wire.
