Default 2nd gen engine blocks?

are the second gen engine bloock the same as the first generation? someone gave me a good deal on a built bottom end for a 95 neon, but i have an 02, will they change over without a problem?

i'm not positive but i would say that they are...there isnt really much difference with the sohc motors from 95 to 05...besides the diff. air induction system...the head is the only difference as far as i kno...im looking into all of tht...but ur best bet is to buy a rebuilt top end....thats where the more increase in power will come from....

i already have a port and polished head and mopor performance cam, valve springs and indy racing valves, but i want the bottom end to have the strenght for nitrous, turbo ect, let me know what you find out about the blocks.....thanks

The blocks interchange from 95-02. A crank change occured in 03-05 model years. There are minor differences between 95-02 but nothing that stops them from interchanging.
