hey i was just reading the drop strut and was wondering in your guys' opinion how much of a drop you could get out of a 2001 neon with chrome 16 and regular profile tires and be safe about it. i was reading the other one and the guy was talking about bottoming out and i just want to be safe when i get my drop done. i still want the ride to be smooth but i want it to look nice. i want eibach springs but dont know how much to lower the car without destroying it and the ride. let me know thanks guys!

 

i have just coil overs on my car and that dropped it 3 inchs, but you do not want to do that if you are worried about ride, because you do not have one, if you can locat the drop zone struts i would say go as low as you want, but the stock struts are just that "stock" they are not made to have a drop put on, but if you can find a drop strut then they are made for a lower stanced car, but the problem is finding them... the strut is made so the movement of the strut is lower, sitting the car lower and not loosing much ride quality, as for dropping a car with a stock strut, a drop of even an 1.5 inchs can loose ride quaility on a stock strut, let me know if you can find a lower strut!!!! when i put the coilovers on the car it was temporary and when i can find the drop struts and coil overs, the whole suspension is going to be redone, swaybars, coil springs, struts, bushings and all....but i have to find the struts so af ANYONE knows where i can find them let me know
