Default Looking into Neons...

I'm new to the forums and just wanted to get some input on Neons. I'm trying to get rid of my 99 Mustang GT which if anyone is interested in, let me know, but anyway. I've been looking into Neons because of gas milage and I like how the 00-02's look. I've found a 02 R/T for $7,200 with only 54K miles on it. It sounds like an awesome deal to me but if I somehow loose money on my mustang and won't be able to afford it, could I just as easily perform the same HP on a regular 02 neon. I was reading and the only differance in HP is 18 horsepower? I'm thinking I could easily pull that off with exhaust and an intake. I'm just saying I can get a 5 speed 02 neon with less miles for about $6,000....

What's everyone's input on this?

yeah the r/ts are a good car but hard to find that is a good deal on that rt, but i have and se and just races an rt the other day and killed him, but i have alittle engine work done to mine, but you will feel a big difference with just an intake and exhaust.....just will matter what you can afford...they are good cars and the 00 and up cars are realiable....let us know what you end up doing

Dude im trying to dump my Rustang too. Youll love the Neon. Get the R/T if you can just because goin in with 18 more HP is still an advantage. That said performance difference is minimal and easy to gain with little modification. Eithere way good luck.

Thanks guys for the info. If all goes well with selling my mustang, I'll be driving this:

Also. I hate when people do this kind of stuff, but it's really hard to find tasteful bumpers and bodykits for compact sports cars. Does anyone know what bumper this is or anything realitively close to it? Something SRT-4ish but not a complete rip?

Thanks.

Find a trashed SRT-4 at a salvage yard with same color and that would fit your car quite nicely.

yea i just picked up a 01 r/t with 92.000 miles on it back in november for $4,000. Ive been doing much reading over the r/t and it actualy comes with better internals and thoaral body. I was reading stock internals on the magnum 2.0 motor are good up intill about 220hp. And the transmission is good up intil about 300 hp. So even know its only an 18 hp difference the car itself is equipped with better parts.
