Custom Exhaust
Hey all.
So I've got an advanced metals class at school, and I'm looking to do a useful project. This, combined with my inability to find an exhaust online that I really like, leads me to the conclusion that I should make myself up an exhaust to my liking.
I've got a few questions before I take on this project...1;What type of steel should I use? I've seen online exhausts made from stainless steel all the way to aircraft quality materials...what's the difference between these for practical (not heavy racing, mainly daily driver) use? 2; Do I need a muffler/resonator? How does a system sound with/without one? The deeper, the better. 3; If I screw the pooch on the exhaust and don't like it, will it be much harder switching from this exhaust to a pre-fabricated one?
Thanks for taking the time to look at my dumb questions

it seems pretty feasible. Some auto parts stores carry bent tubing for this particular purpose. all you really need to do is get your measurements, line up all the anlges and some minor cuts along with some welding and you're set. Pick up some 3" stainless steel tubing after you've planned everything out and have at it. The exhaust and the catalytic converter will be the only thing that you won't have to fabricate yourself. Good luck, post pics when you're done
