Default battery light help

hey guys i have been driving my neon for about 3 months now and i have started to notice that when i stop at a stoplight/sign my battery light will come on. it shuts off after about a 1/4 mile down the road, so i figured it only did this at idle. i drive an automatic by the way. dad thought it was a fan belt or the alternater. but it is a 2001 getting ready to round 100k miles. i also have subs hooked up in the trunk that will shut off without notice. then come back on later. they only have 800 rms running to them though. and we all know that you do not get 800 watts from an 800 watt amp. anyways, any ideas would help, thanks guys.

Default RE: battery light help

1st......there are no belts controlling the fan its electrical and triggered by the ECU...2nd it could be your neon has A UDP...or the alternator is going bad or when under a load your voltage regulator is overcharging...which is also controlled by the ecu. you...may want to get a cap to help or get a higher power alternator or even high power battery. My neon never had the batt. light come on until I installed my system. but I also have a UDP so that is why it comes on.

BTW does this happen when lights are on/off?
