Default 18" rims

Just wondering if anyone with 18" rims has ever had a problem with rubbing. I often have in excess of 650 lbs in the back seat (Very Large Friends) does anyone know if I would have a problem?

i probably wouldnt put anything bigger than 17 on a neon. im pretty sure the diameter of the stock tires is 18.5 inches, so you would have no cushion and problems with potholes wrecking your rims.

Thanks for the reply. I just figured out how to use the search option for the forum. I read a lot of older forums on the topic so I think you are right 18's are to big. I will go with 17's. But do you know about the bolt pattern and the offset. Some people say that the neon is a 5x114 others say 5x100. Is it a 38mm, 40mm, or 42mm offset? And what is an offset?

Standard offset seems to be 40mm, but i've seen people go to 42mm...bolt pattern is 5x100 and if your looking for sharp looks but a nice ride for a daily driver go with the 17", otherwise you'll be stuck with 30/35 series tires an you'll feel every pebble you drive over...
