hey i was wondering do you know if any kind of neon besides the srt-4 came with a dohc motor between 2000 and 2005... just wonderin cuz i have this bet goin with this dude but he says his chics car is dohc and its an 04 or 05 i think... just wondering...

 

Unless he has an SRT-4 its nto DOHC. They discontinued that motor because its reliabilty was not that great as the SOHC. I dont even think the R/T Neon had the DOHC after 99. BTW does your name have anything to do with 1320 video?

 

The only Neon that came with a DOHC engine after 2000 was either a custom swap or a de-badged SRT-4. Ask your friend how he came accross the conclusion that the car is a DOHC.

 

yeah they are no DOHC engines after 2000 unless turboed srt 4s, and the R/ts are also SOHC, not dual

The SRT-4 doesn't really count because it's not really a Neon. Yes, it's built on the Neon's frame but there have been enough changes to call it something different.

 

yeah, the something different would be "on steroids". regardless of the beefed up turboed engine, beefier suspension, and a hood scoop, it's still just a neon on steroids. look at all the stuff dave's done to his car; that ones still a neon. (no offense dave)

 

If I were in it for racing, I'd prefer to have a turbo'd Neon to a jacked up SRT-4. People expect the SRT-4 to be fast, nobody expects anything from the Neon.

I'll post a few vids of some sleepers in a bit to show you what I mean.
