has to be some places in canada that offer free inspections.....if n e thing... call some places that deal with mainly front end issues...ask around about free inspections....dont hurt to ask... like askin for free upgrades yin hotel..atleast 1 outta 10 times. it's worked for me....dont hurt to try u know.. thanx. good luck. and yes. your dealer will def inspect that.. just as long as your covered....i had my dealer do all types a re-learning for my tranny...full fluids flush... i yoked them for w/e their warranty offered.. even if i cam out the pocket a lil for extra stuff. still.. to me their nothing like dodge mechanics workin on dodge ,,and they always use the right fluids....well. good luck.... call your deal er... and ask around. im sure you'll come to a conclusion
Worse comes to worse, the outer tie rod ends are easy to replace. Just need a 5 lb hammer, or a pickle fork and two wrenches a little bit of tape and volia. For the inner ones, by the special ring clamp tool to take the boot off the inner tie rod ends. Then use the special tool to take the inner one out. It's really simple, then get a wheel alignment... Saves you LOTS of money.
It should be under warenty, bring it to the dealer.

To check to see if your tie-rods are worn, put it on jack stands, and grab the tire by the left and front side. Then try to wobble the tire by pushing to the front with your left hand and pull backwards with your right hand over and over again.. if it moves or feels lose, then yes, your tie rods need to be replaced. I just did mine on my 2001, they cost me a little under $40 for BOTH of them, and took me about 45 minutes to do so... as far as the front end alignment, as long as the tie rods are the EXACT same length, count how many times you have to turn old ones to get them off and then put the new ones on the EXACT same amount of turns... done it many times and never had to get a front end alignment...
FYI - you can do this same test to see if you need ball joints, but, instead of grabbing the sides, grab the top and bottom of the wheel and do the same thing.

Tie Rods are not going to be covered in a powertrain warrenty but the general consesnses above is correct on how to check them. However if you could look at them while the wheels are on the goround such as a drive on lift then you could check them even for minor play by shking the steering wheel and looking/feeling for play. As for leaks you have to as how bad. My car has a power steering leak in the rack. I lost the amount of fluid equl to the line on the resevoir that tells you it is low. Was on the low line when I got it and 25000 miles later is was now just a ~1/64" lower than the line. Leaking yes and I know where, would I worry not even. Just top off and go. So the amount you are leaking is also important. Is it really a leak or just seeping a minute amount over time.
