i was just wondering for the sake of wondering, how hard would it be to switch out a 2000 dodge neon automatic engine with a 95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse. I know it's a Chrysler engine, and i was wondering if it was at all possible.

 

Park next to one and pop the hoods. The blocks are the same, but the Eclipse head has the intake in back and the exhaust up front. If you can find a way around that, or don't need the head, and are willing to swap out the DOHC pistons in there for SOHC versions (or file down the edges of the DOHC pistons), then you're golden. And we're only talking about the 4-cylinder non-turbo... the 4G63 is a totally different motor than what's in your Neon.
