Default Which one is the best option?? (Struts+Springs)

Ok, first post, and I'm just looking to start modding my Neon and I got a question for all of you.

I was looking to get an Eibach Pro-Kit and then some struts, and then I found a couple of combo deals.
Set of KYB GR-2 Shocks+4 Vogtland Lowering struts for $305(1.2 inch drop)
I also found a deal for 4 Tokico HP Shocks+Tokico Struts for $378.(1.4 inch drop)

So I've got 3 options here:
1) KYB Struts+Vogtland Springs for $305(1.2 inch drop)
2) Tokico Struts+Springs for $378(1.4 inch drop)
3) Keep waiting, buy the Eibach Pro-Kit and buy struts seperate(Some suggestions on shocks are welcome)

So what's your guys' thoughts on this? Thanks for any help.

Buy the combo kit, as most likely those struts are designed to handle the lowered ride. However, do your homework. Contact each company and tell them what you are doing...ask as many questions as you can think of.

How well do these struts hold up/last? Do you warranty the struts with this lowering kit? etc etc etc....I do know that Eibach has a kit that comes with struts/lowering springs.

^^Thanks for the help.

The Tokico Struts package comes with Tokico springs, so my guess is they are matched up to work together. And the combo comes with a Tokico Lifetime Warranty.
I'm liking this combo because it offers more of a drop and from what I've read Tokico offers pretty good quality products.

Also, you mentioned about Eibach offering a combo package. Do you know where I'd be able to find that on the web?

If you want a complete kit, I'd go with the Pro System Plus, as that has alot more in the kit.....but if you want just a drop kit/struts....the Eibach Pro System is not bad....its what I have.

Neither the Pro-System Plus nor the Pro-System is available for the 2nd gen Neon. Oddly, Eibach's site doesn't list them as available for the ST chassis either. Hmmm....

KYB GR-2's are no different than stock struts.

Stock struts will not tolerate lowering or a higher (or lower) spring rate for any significant length of time. KYB will void their warranty if lowering springs are used to lower more than 2".

Eibach springs are crap for handling/performance on Neons. This includes 2nd gens...

Tokico has a good reputation in general, but I haven't heard glowing reports from 2nd gen owners on them.

For lowering without reducing travel, improving performance, and ensuring longevity, you'll want to spend the extra money and get a true set of coilovers. K-Sport is probably the least expensive I've seen, and they have been very well received. www.phantomhp.com is the best place to find them in stock. Yes, it's a lot of money. Yes, it will outlast and outperform all of the others listed.

Best of luck!

DONT NOT BUY EIBACH SPORTLINES!!! It was the biggest mistake I ever made. The look is great but you will start bottoming out on every bump and pot whole and before you know it you've got no more struts left.

Well you should have known that before hand. Afterall, the Sportlines are a RACE spring designed for heavy track/auto-x use...
