I just got a 2002 Dodge Neon SXT. There is about 50,000k on the car. In first gear the car sometimes makes the rattling nosie. In 2nd and 3rd gear the nosie is there no matter what RPM I am in. It sounds like there is something loose in there. Not like something bouncing around more like a loose clutch plate or something.

 

Jack the front end up and put it on jack stands (don't do it on just the jack) and have someone sit in the car and search for the noise, and look out for spinning tires, lol

 

May be the flywheel?

 

Why would you think it is the flywheel? I am trying to figure this thing out before the 30 day warrenty expires.

 

Jack it up.
