Default I am afraid...

I am a pretty-much happy owner of a 5 speed manual Neon SE 05 with about 1600 miles. Since its a new car, everything works perfectly beside one thing...

Whenever I press the gas pegal a little harder than you would normally do while cruising (I would say about 1 cm) an interesting noise is coming from the front of the car. It sounds like the belts are slipping or something... It dissapears when I press the pedal more or less than the problematic 1 cm spot. It's also more audible when I press the gas pedal at the 'sweat points' for the engine. What i mean by that is when you try to drive on third gear while going 29 mph or so. It will go, but needs to put extra power to accelerate. It also happen when im not moving and starting from the first gear, but then its only for a split second.

I hope that its nothing serious... maybe even normal? As you probably noticed from my problem description, I'm not a car expert, so any hints are grately appreaciated.

it sounds like the throttle body. alot of us noticed that the throttle body makes a squeaking or chirping sould at a certain point on the accelerator. i didn't notice mine until i got my cai, but i would imagine you could hear it with the standard intake as well. as far as i know, though, that's normal.

Yeah, it's just at a certain point where the throttle body is letting x ammont of air in, that it makes that noise. It's nothing to worry about.

Alright! Phew, that made me feel a little better :-) Although, I'm gonna go to the dealer for my first oil change and let them inspect it just in case. :-)
