Take to your local auto parts store, Checker, Autozone, etc. most of them will check the codes for you for free, then you can go from there.

 

Thanks. Isn't there also a way to reset the computer to turn the engine light off and see if it comes on again? I remember reading something about disconnecting the negative of the battery for 30 seconds and the engine light will go off upon reconnection.

 

solved the problem myself. just a loose gas cap haha

 

ok btw here is how too check for engine codes
turn the ignition
on/off/on/off/on and looks at the odemeter it will show the code there and then say done
