i have a 2001 neon aprox 111000 miles around 86000 miles the engine started flutering. by the time i hit 90000 the engine was running on 3 cyls at low rpms , as i bring the engine speed up, It will run on 4 cylinders and smooths out. I have replaced all sensors, coil pack and wires, oxygen sensors, fuel injectors and spark plugs. The only thing i havent replaced is the computer. I have another neon same year and model......are the computers compatable from one car to another? Has anyone had this type of problem? Please email me at bubski66@yahoo.com. thank you

 

They shouldn't be compatable b/c the computer has the vin number flashed into it to make the car start.

 

Hi Kenbubski, did you try taking a look in your intake manifold for oil. It is common in gen. 2 neons.

 

What do you get for compression and what do you get at idle for vacuum???
