recently purchased a 02 neon se w/auto. car was sold "as is/no warranty".. 74,000 miles. 3 days after I got it, the transmission starting going bonkers.. the main problem was not shifting into overdrive and staying stuck in 2cd..(not sure how many gears it has) . the transmission starting jerking also when shifting, jerking the car that is, or shifting hard. so i took it to the dealership, they said it was a bad speed sensor or something, so was thinking that cant cost too much to fix. so they called me after having it in their shop for a day and said it was fixed.. i get dwn there and turns out theres a bigger problem.. something about a control module in or on the transmission, i dunno, and it's gonna cost alot to fix it. so i said just put everything back the way it was, cus i don't have the money to fix it right now.. well, they wanted to charge me 140 bucks just for unplugging some wire. well, i got into a big shouting match/argument with someone in service.. told em no fkn way im paying u guys 140 bucks for not fixing anything!! (they werent going to give me the keys) ..

finally they broke dwn and said i could go ahead and take it, after carrying the verbal into the showroom area. sheesh, what a mess. lol []

anyway, whatever they did, they left the thing stuck in 2cd gear, so u cant go over 40/45 without the thing sounding like it's gonna explode. however, all the hurky jerky crap is gone. also, no speedometer.

BTW.. i tried to get the chevy place here where i bought it to take look at it first, i sat there for hours and noone ever lifted a finger to check it out, i think they were just waiting on me to leave.. so i did.. hence taking it to the dodge house.

so.. does anyone have any idea what's wrong with my car? can it be fixed for not too much $$?

mine was doing the exact same thing and it was the speed sensors.
