Default Could someone help me?

i have an 02 ATX neon, i put a short ram intake and when i rev it up the intake kicks outward, like intead of sucking air its blowing it, it shoots foward towards the back of the headlight, is that normal?.......ok so i thought a cold air would be better, so i bought one from aem, but when i put my hand at the tip (no filter) i couldnt feel anything suckin, normal?............My intake manifold has a finger tip of oil, how bad is that? my neon is really really slow as far as accelerating, slower than normal, does it really matter that i have a big system? any ideas to help me atleast get it in runnin normal conditions?.

A CAI doesnt suck air in. It simply provides air from farther away from all of the engine heat. When you are driving, air is flowing over the filter and through the CAI, and thats how it works. There is no sucking air involved. As for it kicking outward, its probably just your engine hopping and that slight shift would make it appear that the intake were moving. As for your car being slow, if you only have an intake then its gonna be a neon with an intake...lol thats about it. Yes your big *** speakers are weighing you down cuz youre not making that much power.

yea i guess 2 12in kickers that prob weight 100lbs in total could slow down a slow neon lol, yo but i mean the intake kicks out hard, and what about oil in the manifold, is that really that bad, cuz takin it out to clean is a bia, cuz the main cables for the injectors run in between it. let me know wut u think , and thx for the input 01ACR

like he said, intakes dont suck in air, they more or less scoop in air. A CAI is more affective becuase it gets cooler air from outside the car into the engine. A big system means big weight.... just remember those new speakers and new 18 inch wheels come with a price and a weight.[:@]

Anyways, what do you mean kicks. If you did what you should have, the intake shouldnt move at all. It should connect to the connecting brackets[&:]
