Happy 4th to all of you,

So my 02 SXT check engine light came on with the 1684 and 456 codes. Yes I did look them up prior to this post. I have taken the car to my local Strauss Auto, they ran the nitrogen through the system, 1st time they found nothing and they reset the check engine light. Second time, they indicated a slight leak near the fuel tank, some type of fuel tank canister. They replaced it ($130), and three days later the light is back on with the same codes.

Struass seems to know what they are doing, I'm taking the car back there on Wednesday, but was wondering if any of you might have suggestions. I know the most common thing related to the 456 code is the gas cap, I do secure it after refueling, and Struass checked it.

I'm also puzzled about the 1684 code which indicates that the battery was disconnected. It was, as I tried to clear the 456 code by following instructions in this forum. BTW, Strauss indicated that in order to clear the 456 code, both battery terminals need to be disconnected, and that they be touched against each other in order to properly clear the code.
