Default How to get a Neon to turn on a budget

Vogtland Sport Springs, Progress Tech 22mm Sway bar, Full Prothane Bushing kit, P185/65R14 Traction TA Tires and one alignment

Purty Front Purple Springs
KYB Struts for the rear sway bar perches

More Purty Purple Springs for the Rear. Notice compressed low rate springs to prevent violent unloading of suspension during braking especially while turning.

Views of the cars stance after install

No it did not come with door mouldings running down the side....

Yeah mudflaps have to go ASAP, but other than that, its coming along very nicely...just needs some nice 16's or 17's to go with the springs...keep up the good work!

Kind of the point thought them flaps are. Kind of a sleeper thing. Just imagine folowwing a stock Neon and the have it turn faster than you. Really the next step if it is too come is to get larger stock rims and wider tires maybe a 195 or 205 similar to the autocross boys. I want ot keep down rotational weight as much as possible. But I find the fun in being as close to stock as possible while haveing the goods to scare the crap out of someone not paying attention while tailgating.

If I get around to it I would probably go after SRT4 spindles, struts, and brakes and new Vogtland springs. Mo' better brakes would be nice.

So far I figure there is about 700 bones in it for suspesion stuff +engine and trans mount inserts, boogers, and CAI. RT muffler bought when new.
In the rain today found the limit and the front breaks just before the rear. Dry I have not had the nerve yet to try it, gonna fnd somewher quiet with runoff and no ditch or curb to plow into and see where it is at. But there is a Nice 90 degree turn near work that is posted for 20 and they really mean it and most cars can push about 35 and the Neon has now been to 49 without squeeling, barking or sliding a single tire. Just Rails and that is in just one lane.

Thought you'd all like to know the spring rates of these bad boys.

Front:
progressive
Initial: 25 N/mm = 143 lbf/in
Final: 45 N/mm = 257 lbf/in

Rear:
progressive
Initial: 16 N/mm = 91 lbf/in
Final: 24 N/mm = 137 lbf/in

ewetho,

How much of an HP improvement did you get from installing the dual exhaust?

Your "Lil Red" looks great. It could possibly be a get-away car in the next Bond flick being a "sleeper."

I only had the stock muffler on it for about 790 miles then when the RT muffler came in I had it put on. No difference in HP but sounds better to those around you. Can't hear it unless your at a drive up ATM or Drive Thru and goose it. Also looks much better than stock which is why I got it. The stock pipe from the cat to the muffler still exists.

Some how need to get some 15X7" Steelies and some 205+ tires. Then hang on.

Those springs look really good, not a fan of the purple though. I do have a question though, what is the best suspension setup to go for, under a total of 3 grand so really no limit in price.

1) Best springs and struts/ coilovers
2) Best sway bars

Because I have always thought Eibachs were the best as far as springs and struts and the mopar stage 3 coilovers are just a little pricy for my taste but i really have always wondered how they all stack up against each other.
