Default Muffler suggestions please?

I have a 2002 Neon SE 132hp and I'd like to get some muffler suggestions from you Neon experts.

I'm getting a K&N Typhoon or AEM Cold air intake.

I'd like your input on is the kind of muffler I should get to improve performance. I would also like this car to last me as long as I can since I use it to commute to work and back.

I'd like a muffler that would sound good and add some hp. A deep sounding muffler that isnt too loud so I dont get a ticket and not super loud inside the car either. Kind of an in between. This is what I looked at so far:

Flowmaster 40/super 40 seriers - I hear these sound good but are very loud

Flowmaster 60 Series - Will this fit? What size is my exhaust 2.25"?

Magnaflow - It seems that these work well with Neon's - Which model will work best?

If you guys could give me some model suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can give me.

Take a look here: www.modernperformance.com
There are a few nice exhaust systems here at a decent price
(I say decent price as I don't cheap out when it comes to performance parts).

1. The Borla dual catback exaust is an excellent choice, Borla makes top of the line stuff.
2. I'm running with the Thermal R&D catback exhaust and I love it. It makes for a great increase in performance,
and it's pretty loud but not ricey at all. I'd highly recommend it to you.
3. Modernperformance doesn't offer it, but I have heard good things about Magnaflow.

Good luck.

worst case sanario : if the muffler you get is too loud, you could put a glasspack on it. Thats what I had to do. I bought a cheap ebay muffler though.

yeah...best bet would be BORLA or MAGNAFLOW.

Most other exhausts have that nastyl "flying bug" sound....and are those cheap ones that just about do nothing but look huge, ugly, and sould nasty.

BORLA or MAGNAFLOW

Thanks for the replies. I checked out Borla mufflers at http://www.borla.com/products/produc...Turbo+Mufflers . Do you know if Borla mufflers are very loud at all. I would like to be able to talk to someone in the front passenger seat without yelling lol. What about Magnaflow? Are they very loud?

Just to clear things up here. The topic started was about MUFFLERS. You guys mention EXHAUSTS, now he is back to MUFFLERS.

Performance from just a muffler wont be much. Need the whole exhaust.
