Default How much to change the Cat converter?

how much would be a fair price to change a Cat converter? for a dodge neon. I think its fried cuz i got black smoke coming out the muffler.

Well a high flow cat (or an OEM spec cat) will cost around $100-$120, then probably another $100 for labor costs depending on the shop you take it too...

I would go to modernperformance.com for a high flow cat, but if you just want an OEM replacement just do a search for them...usually you only change the cat when it goes out, and on most cars it should last beyond 100,000 miles, but sometimes they dont.

Basically all the cat does is reduce emmissions from your vehicle...

sounds right because my car is at 92K right now. my check engine light is directing me to the cat and coolant
