Voltage regulators Worth the money?
I have a 2001 neon gts that i have been converting to a srt-4.My biggest problem right now is that when i have my a/c on it seems to drain my power and my performance goes down hill.I was going to get a JDM voltage regulator to solve the problem.Does anybody know if this will work?Or have any better ideas?

The reason your power and performance go down is you now have a large load on you alternator keeping the clutch compressed on your AC compressor and then also you now have to spin your compressor. They all equall HP lost. Some lost to your Alternator which is under extra load and some to physically spinng the compressor. Not even a rocket scientist is need to figure out that as we go after 3-4 HP with a mod here and there that you are now giving it back and performance will suffer across the board.
I realize i could completely disconnect the a/c compressor and gain horse,or just leave it off to keep my horses at par.But when you have an 11 month old daughter and the interior of your car is 110degrees you have no choice but to run your a/c.It looks like it's time for my turbo upgrade!Maybe then i won't notice it.
if you have your 11 month old daughter in your car the last thing you should worry about is a few horse power........ keep her safe and shut the air off when you want to go faster!
