Hey for $60 dollars how can you go wrong! And later on if you get a obx header and a high flow cat you won't even need a new exhaust system.

I totally agree....go with it for now....I got an OBX Muffler for like $150 (installed) and I just recently got the OBX headers and Downpipe for $124 (uninstalled) so for only around 300 bucks you really can have a good exhaust.....oh I almost forgot I got 3 inch pipeing all the way to the muffler too, that cost me another $50 at the local muffler shop....so I guess that brings it all to about $324....which aint too bad at all....

Just out of curiosity, but why in gods name would you run 3" piping on your N/A Neon??

Because he can.

Wouldnt a bigger diamiter mean a reduced velocity at the muffler end?.
I can see that it would cause issues with the smooth flow of exhaust gasses though.

Im just going to upgrade mine to 2 1/4 to match my muffler size.

I would imagine the most efficient exhaust would be the same size as the exhaust from the engine?
(so, 4 exhausts at.. Im guessing 3/4 out of the engine block? would be 3". But since they arnt all blowing at the same time you can take 3/4 off that?. I have no idea, just ignore me......)

If you figure that the exhaust ports are 3/4" in diamater that equals 1.7" sq area if you are taking a flat cross section of the exhaust. The area of a cross section of 3" pipe is 7.065" sq. Assuming the ports are 3/4", the closest match in diameter is 1.5" piping. Now this is figured out assuming the exhaust ports are round and 3/4" in diameter (which I don't think would be correct) and that the perfect exhaust is identically matched to the exhaust port total area. Just a little math based off what other people are saying.
