Are they some sort of gimmick? 20+hp on most of the listings and the prices range from like buy it now for .99Cents up to about 30? or so? Do they work? will it damage my egine in anyway? Any Pro's to it? Cons? thanks

 

waste of money, you wont really get that kind of horsepower for anything that cheap. Shouldnt hurt your car, from what i remember it just a resistor that plugs into you intake air temperature sensor and makes your car think its sucking in cold air. Prolly wont do you any good.

 

Total waste of money, they throw codes and don't do anything.....not worth it at all. DONT BUY!!

 

throw codes??? didnt know that, havent played with one on a neon yet... that sucks ****.

I made one myself for my old celica, didnt notice any diff... and yeah the check engine light was on, but when was it not? lol, i wragged the crap outta that thing!

 

Yea.....I actually made the mistake of buying one about a year ago and it threw a code, I cant member exactly what code it was not but it had to do with the Intake sensor I took it out after about an hour of having it in and honestly there was no noiticable gain...so they really are crap!

 

i bought one of ebay for 55 dollars but i havent put it on yet but i bet it does work its only about 2 inches long
