I see. Yeah its kinda weird cause i bought this car off some guy and when i bought it he said he had just replaced the brakes and changed the belt. I have about five months with the car and about a month or two ago i needed to replace the brakes, which got me confused cause the guy i bought it from said he had replaced them which ended up beeing a total lie and now i was wondering if the whole changing the belt thing was a lie aswell. I could see the brakes easier than the belt so i knew they needed to be replaced. So now im sure its the timing belt and now i know i was lied to, thought i did buy the car for $1600 with like 136,000 miles and now im sure im almost gona hit the 150,000 mark, im not so sure cause i changed the cluster and it shows 40,000 miles, lol. But thanks for the info.

i think the vibration is a motor mount if its an automatic put it in drive and put your foot on the break and rev it, have someone look at ther motor and if the motor moves you will need a new motor mount which is easy and cheap to install

well look at replacing new break pads and discs, motormounts, and timing belt witch all only have a roughly estimated lifetime of 100,000 miles anyway. Im sure your struts also need to be replaced aswell as every other routine matinace check. Trust me i bought a r/t for 4,000 dollars with 100,000 miles on it and had to put 2,000 into to it to keep it going.

Yeah, so far i have just done the routine tune up, changed some gaskets, brakes, and new tires which was the most expensive. Next will be the timing belt, struts, and motor mounts. For performance its headers and the r/t exhaust! but first things first so it can run good enough.

One of the other forums referrs to this, I believe, as piston slap. Which would indicate that it's a bottom end thing. I had an 88 Labaron (please no laughing) and it started making that noise, that I noticed anyway, around 80K. It was still going at 177K, just slightly louder. In that time I changed the head due to finding a cracked valve seat during a headgasket change and was excited that the dreaded noise would finally be gone. It was there, same as before. So I belive it's bottom end and not catastrophic (but if you think you should change the T belt by all means do so, that can be catastrophic. I don't think they should be allowed to build interference engines with belts. Just me.

Im gona try the motor mounts first, then ill see if everything else with the engine works fine, then i wont change the belt, cause i did try to listen to the clicking and it sounded like the clicking from the fuel injectors like somebody stated earlier. But ill see what happens. thanks.

My 05 (26k miles) is having the same issue and the belt looks almost new. It's going back to the dealer in a couple of days. Let me know how it works out.

Thank you.

I still have this question if i should get the whole motor mount, or just motor mount inserts?? I could tell the vibration is cause by the motor mounts because i could move the engine back and forth with my hand. The motor mount seems fine, no cracks or nothing, it just seems to be those black rubber/plastic things which i think are the inserts. right??
