Hi everyone,

I recently bought an auto 03 neon. The car didn't come with an owners manual.

Can anyone tell me what the manufacturer reccomends for engine oil? 5w30?

Also maintenance info on the automatic transmission would be great. When should it have it's 1st service and what fluid does it use?

i say take it in and get the tranny flushed at 30,000 miles or so. You can look at the fluid and tell, its supposed to be red, if it starts gettin a dark brown, then i would flush it. But still, every 30000 is a good schedule. Oil in an 03, i believe, is 5w30. My 05 says only 5w20.

 

My 03 recomends either 5w30 or 10w30...i use 10w30, but then again, i have an MTx and the HO engine...
