Default need advice

Can anyone suggest what I can do to cure the lack of power when my automatic shifts from 1st to 2nd. Car seems to lose power right after the shift, then as the revs build, the power comes back. Been this way since brand new. Car totally stock Thanks

I have a 2002 auto and let me know, I feel your pain![:@] I have noticed that after 3000-3500 rpm the thing takes off but before that it is very doggy. I have changed the muffler and added a cold air intake but the initial doggy take off is still there. I know that they are automatics, but there is no reason why they have to be soooooooo doggy at first. I thought there was something wrong with my car, come to find out its all auto neons. Sorry, for not giving you an answer...I am looking for the answer myself.

i dunno. I have the same problem. I have an 04 neon and it seems to bog down pretty quick after second. But its not too noticable cuz after it hits 2.5 rpm it just takes off again. I really only have a prolem in fourth gear. Dang near impossible to put up with it. It just bogs down like mad. I have 2 speeds... the one im at or ***** out. Dont get me wrong, it changes speed very slowly... but it just dogs it until about 3.5 (which takes forever!!!) when im not slamming the accelerator.

Well to start, I would suggest the performance valve body that will help with your shifts a lot...Performance Valve Body
