Radio (after install) and muffler..
Ok i installed a new head unit in my car, didnt take me that long...now i have 2 wires from the exsisting wiring..that are not connected to anything..1 is black with yellow running through it and the other is blue? does anyone have an ideas where they go..? Ive connected all the wires from the new unit to the old wires sept those 2? and another question is i went to a local discount auto today and i noticed for like 30-66 dollars they sell muflers...dunomax...and another cheaper brand..both are single exhaust...will i be able to use them on my car...year 2000 4 door...and are they a bolt off and on installation??? Thanks for any help!
Ok in the factory wiring, the black and yellow wire comes from the headlight switch, when you turn your headlights on, it dims the lights on your radio. Most aftermarket head units don't use this. I could not find the blue wire on the wiring diagram, but usually on aftermarket head units a blue wire is a power/amplified, antenna, but to my knowledge the Neons never had these, so, I don't know.
was all that info(diagram) in the user manual? I dont have 1 but im trying to get ahold of 1...and now that i think of it anywayz...the power antenna(blue)wire was coming from the new unit...i think the other wire coming from the original set was orange..? The point to finding this out is becuz after installing it my cigerette lighter stopped working...Now i know that it should have anything to do with it...but it did, i retraced all the wires...nothing was cut...sliced..nothing...Now 1 thing when i used a light tester on the fuses the 2 bottom left 1's didnt light up...I checked the fuses and they looked fine..but incase i wasnt looking properly..i replaced them with new and still nothing? Like i said i dont have the book...and the haynes manual doesnt show anything...I really dont want to have to spend alot of money just to figure out whats going on..Any help again is appreciated.
Well the orange wire seems to basicalyl be redundant with the black and yellow one as near as I can tell from the diagrams. The wiring diagrams are in the factory service manual. The fuse for the cigarette lighter is number 14 (I attached a diagram of the fuse panel). The wire from fuse 14 to the ignition switch is dark blue, and from the switch to the cigarette lighter should be red. Hope this helps.
