Hello
Hi, my name is jj and I am new to the forums here. I own a silver 2000 dodge neon (Highline) with automatic trans. and an aftermarket cd player, so its pretty much stock. I got a really good deal on it and it has been taken good care of.. It has 98k miles on it. I have a few questions about it... Is there many things I can do for performance, like cold air intake or a 4in muffler? Is there much I can do to performance with and automatic transmission? Any one know any sites that would have these things?? Thanks
you think of it, you can probably do it.
Neons are a canvas... Fung-Shui! (or however you spell it).
Into performance, a neon has a lot to offer... Looks, neons got that too, A BIG NWHSS (neon with huge stereo system), neons have a lot of trunk space.
Good Luck. Look around on the main page for places that sell products for a neon. The main ones are Howell Automotive and Modernperformance.com

Nope. An automatic transmission is, yes, a bad platform to start on. I also have an Auto tranny. You can the EXACT same stuff as a manual tranny. You just loose more power due to the transmission then they do. If i remember it is something like 15% HP loss though MTX and 30% through MTX.
A manual tranny swap is on my list of things to do this summer.

oh man, just as freerider said there is pretty much a limitless amount of upgrades to be done. I also have a an ATX (auto tranny). I have a K&N Cold Air Intake, headers, 4 inch muffler, and performance plugs and wires. all costs came to about $450-500. I noticed a differance over stock power and it now sounds awesome. I would suggest gettin these things first if you are on a tighter budget, however if you got dough to work with, go with forced induction(turbo). Kits range anywhere form $3.5k-5k. depending on how far you wanna go. If you got any more questions just PM me...Good Luck and congratz on buyin a Neon!
