hey guys i was looking on ebay for a manual tranny for my 02 neon.. im comming across many 95-99 trannys... will that line up to my 2002? I no i need to get the computer also.. will a 00-02 computer work? thanks..

I have a 2002 automatic transmission... trying to convert it..

Its the same block and everything, so i dont see why it wouldnt bolt right up. But the 1st gen Neons utilize a cable clutch design (along with the 2000 Neon), while the 01+ Neons use a hydraulic clutch design. Another difference is the 1st gens used a non-modular clutch while the 2nd gens have a modular clutch setup. If i were you, i would just keep looking for an 01-02 tranny.

Allright.. well the ecu shouldnt be a problem kinda found that. but i will look into the 01-02 tranny.. thanks for the info... This is what im probley going to do... Get the ECU get the 02 mt.... Get the srt shifter, and sumhow find the linkage and clutch pedel... is there anything else im missing?? I herd of some kind of solinoid on the tranny but have no clue... also how hard would it be for me to swap it myself, are there any how to's... I also have pretty ,much every tool... and would i need to take the whole motor out ? thanks!!!!

even though i really don't like this place, i think there is a how to in the 2nd gen part or n e o n s . o r g
they are all very mean there lol
