Many things can cause your car to idle too slowly in drive with your foot on the brake. Your car is 6 years old so if you haven't had the transmission fluid changed yet it's time to do it. Transmission fluid doesn't last forever despite popular opinion. Assuming there's nothing wrong with your transmission (which you'll find out soon enough if there is) check your air filter to make sure it's clean, and your spark plugs to make sure they're not worn or crusty. If your plug wires are original it's time to replace them too. Also, clean your PCV valve, or just replace it. (they're cheap) If that all looks good you need to check for intake leaks.

Arrive alive,

Bill

May also check out cleaning your throttle body. IAC passages are possibly partially blocked too.
