Default CAmshaft

Well I just installed my new camshaft today. Its an Crane Cam 158-0012, and I installed new valve springs. Well I went to start it and it sputters and then dies. Once you get it started this loud clanking noise is coming from what I believe is the #1 cylinder. And the check engine light is on. Does anyone have an idea what may be wrong.

I lined up the timing marks on the cam and crank, according to the haynes manual. Once it idles the noise quits down. But is very dificult to get started again.
