My car slides when I hit a bump. I also her something rubbing, making a flat tire sound. Can anyone help me w/ this problem? I drive a 2000 dodge neon w/ 104,000 miles.

 

what do you mean by it slides does it like jump over across the lane or something? or does the steering wheel jerk maybe?

 

I guess it "breaks loose", "over steers", or I just loose traction. My mother inlaw claims that she backed into a wall, or something at slow, parking speeds.

 

Is it bad shocks? I don't know what bad shocks feel like, though.

Do you have ABS? My gf was given a 2000 neon with abs and it seems hyper active. It comes on too soon, but doesnt do much. Ive been in the car several times with the front end slipping, wet dry. dont matter. tires are at 8/32" pads over 60% meat left. We just got into an accident from this, the abs kicked in and the car wouldnt stop. Unbelieveable. I drive a nissan, but no matter how hard I hit my brakes (with abs by the way) in the nissan in the same spot I dont slide along like the neon did. if anyone else knows something about this please write me at my email addy
