how easy is it to change the motor mounts?

 

Yeah mine did that too but then I changed the top and its fine. If the 00 and 01 are similar the top is really easy that a kid can do it.

 

i have had this problem with all second gen neons i figure its my driving this new ones doing it although i drive like a grandma now good thing i read this post ive already replaced all my fluilds plugs belt and did a fuel system cleaning. figuring first i should get it done considering it was a rental car and two cause i thought it would fix it. im gonna check my mounts too what site did u find them for cheap and did they have polyurthene(do they even help)

[:@]after I replaced that mount it broke again!!!!! It had less than 1k on it.

No the rubber cracked all the way across. I push it some but thats it.

 

i have that same problem, the mechanic said that could be that the Idle Air Control is dirty, but i also have a broken engine mount (lower) its the second time it breaks. I have a '00 neon, with only 60k on it. I took the car to a dodge authorized service when the car only had 25k-30k (about 3yrs ago), the second time the car had about 50k-55k, and this was4-6 months ago. Now the last place i took the car and changed the engine mount close down, so i can't even get their warranty on it. Plus mine won't cover it anymore. Are the engine mounts of bad quality for neons? Could it only last 6 months? now another shop wants to charge me $265 to change it with a 12months/12k miles warranty, but i dont want to spend that kind of money. How good are the engine mounts on ebay? how hard is to replace the lower engine mount? (which is the only one that i'm having problems with)
