Default Help Rebuilding an Engine!!!!!

I am in the United States Army stationed in Germany. So that says alot with not being able to get a lot of parts but online. I have purchased a SRT4 engine block. I am wanting to rebuild this engine from scratch. I would like it to be for racing and show. I have never rebuilt an performance engine before but i do have mechanical knowledge. what parts or brands should i go with such as:
Crankshafts, Pistons, Connecting Rods, Manifolds, Heads, you name it...

It is a project that i can toy with in my basement

je pistons and eagle rods are good you can go stock crankshaft and head. if yyou want, you can go all stock internals they are great, but check modernperformance.com and howellautomotive.com for parts. theyre the best

First, thank you for the support. It means alot.

Do you think i should go with a low compression ratio pistons (8.0:1) such as the ones on modernperformace.com and if so what type of connecting rods should i be looking for? I was also looking for a performance crankshaft. But do you know of any places that would have them?

not too sure wbout the crankshaft. you might want to ask in the srt-4 forum but lower compression would be good for turbos
